Siobhan - its no good telling me when Tom was not born - I know that! But do you want all the correct dates put on? I need to know all you want adding so I can correlate it all on to the web family tree. Jack and AM have some details which we must all add to over Christmas so I can create. At least we will not forget kids birthdays!

the latest version of the Christmas Itinerary Christmas Itinerary 2003.doc Mass and skiing have dates have been added.
It seems to have been screwed up by the last person who added something so I have had to overwrite that version. Shiv if this was you then let me know what you want adding. No arrival details for Katie yet, her and Tom will feel at home here as they can talk to Erin and hear her cute little American accent.

Update from Eastern Europe
Having a great time here staying with John and Brigette at their flat in the centre of Vienna. We have been travelling all around Vienna for the last few days, looking at the citie's cafes, churches, bars and shops. This place below is the Schoenbrunn Palace which has gardens, parks and is just out side the aparment. I enjoyed the christmas market in the front courtyard which sold all kinds of hot delicious snacks and Rizwana loved all the bric a brac hand crafted market stalls.
Last night we went for a meal to a restaurant which was owned by Brigettes cousin - called Emperor Walz Brewery then off to an arty cinema to see the classic film "The third man" . This was made in Vienna post WWII and I had not seen this for a long time but it was good to see again. Today we are off to a museum and some more Chirstmas markets and some more sight seeing.
The Austrain beer is great
We are planning to visit Budapest tomorrow for a couple of days
see you all soon

Phil the picture Jane Goodhall, Directors of Shell and Carin was impressive - what about the rest of the story = where is all this on the web . there must be sites that talk about it. Ask Carin,
you should have posted the picture here though - it is dead easy just click upload file above carin but make sure you click the link option so the pictue does not appear in the main blog and so cause it to take ages to load.......

Shiv I have added this to the itinerary. But what about the rest of the days your are here? You must have some plans - I know about the fish and chips at Lyndsey's. it is important that you and Phil let me know all the dates you have planned so no one after can complain they did not know or did not get the chance to ......

Very good Philip - I found this very amusing, I found it amazing that Tom Mac is so well know in Phuket – he must have visited there a lot in his pre marriage days. Did you to visit any of the bars and see the table tennis ladies? You can tell me the details when you return.
I am off to Vienna soon, off to London later tonight and then on to Heathrow airport at 7 am for a flight, myself and Rizwana are staying with my Scots friend John who is living with his Austrian girl friend.

Can you all Mail me anything you have set in stone for Christmas to I can put it all on to the Calendar so everyone knows what the plans are each day and Phil will find it a lot easier to build his families Christmas itinerary
Such as Christmas day at Brian's, Night on the Moors, golf day, go karting day, Christening day , Curry days and night etc.
Shiv, John Planchinski has agreed to do the Christening pictures for £60 for 20 pictures - I told him this would be OK. As it is a good deal I bought him a pint for you last night so you owe me £2 !!
Jules Moz and I were pulling down the Ivy on the factory roof in Carin's back yard when the 3 kids next door came out with a letter for Julian it was addressed to Santa and Jules was told to leave it up there on the roof on his next trip up which he duly did under their keen overseeing. Although Mozza was heard later trying to convince them that Julian had thrown it away! I did not let them believe him.
Philip, thanks for your offer to get me a set of Galloway's but after careful thought I do not want them now. They are too expensive and I will not use them enough. I am used to yours now and will continue to use them. But can you get me just a putter? I will only have a problem on the one game when we all play but I have a solution - as we both used different clubs on the last game we can do the same next time and just use your set. We can take turns carrying them and as we are on the same team with Capt Tom Mac this will be easy to do - and on the green if we have two putters there will be no waiting around. A much cheaper and more efficient solution.
so get practising
see you

No Mum - I do not believe you!
Anyway this is the best program I have found in a long time - it allows you to enter all the phrases you type in a frequently in 2 clicks, so my user name and email address and any other things I have to type in lot like name and address - I can do not with just a click of the mouse
This is good as I do not have to worry about miss spelling or miss typing important words or telephone numbers. And it is free !!

If anyone does use it and thinks it's the best thing since wholemeal organic sliced bread then let the others know!

I have just poped in to an internet café for a break from my cultural walking around all the literary sites Dublin has to offer. Stopping off to read my copy of Ulysses at the places he mentions in the day of Leopold Bloom. James Joyce's "Ulysses" is the record of a single day in the life of Leopold Bloom. The day, June 16, 1904, is significant to Joyce because it was the day when he first met Nora Barnacle (who was to become his wife). She was a chambermaid at Finn's Hotel, Dublin, and he took her for a walk on that day. Having Just reading the latest blogs they have brought my right back to earth!
I am off now to spend the rest of the day in a few pubs O’Casey, Yeats, Wilde use to frequent.
Rizwana finishes her course today so I can show around tonight and we are off on a 1916 tour tomorrow afternoon.
Jack and Annmarie, I may be having two guests coming to stay for a few days from Thursday night, Naheed's 2 boys! you will love them and can help me look after them. They can stay in Erins room.
See you on Tuesday

Tom
Congratulations - this is the most accurate and honest blog you have made. I am glad you are now seeing things as they really are and the shadow of the US press and government propaganda machine has no longer a hold over your easily susceptible mind.
As you can see clearly now the rain has gone you will notice all the answers below to Mr Moore’s questions are childish schoolboy responses that one would expect to here in a playground argument. They avoid answering the questions in the majority of the cases and their economics lesson is straight out of a Kikdea’s nursery book. Two wrongs do not make a right. Michael has only stated facts as he has come to discover – the facts are not wrong - the only argument is on the interpretation of the facts – his interpretations and the uneducated slanderous interpretations the other “have a go at Michael Moore because they are uncomfortable with the facts websites” have. As Jack Nicholson once said “You can’t handle the Truth”
So M Moore may have a slight anti American taint on his interpretations but he is a much needed equalising argument to the totalitarian one view only that comes out of the white house.
And he is American educated
And you are sizeist!

You have read Toms version of the Tornados devastating visit to Round Hill but as usual he exaggerated it slightly – to get the true story have a look at this local papers interview with Tommy Mac.
Survival
Also Maura has been in the news since her recent visit to Healds Hall – what will they think back home when they read this - Loo Visit
I am now waiting to see what Annmarie, Mum and Quiet Philip think of these postings !
Tom - get yourself off to more baby classes and get in touch with your feminine side!!
Tom - I have seen a documentary about the PP show on channel 5 - amazing stuff - and very popular in Australia and the UK for some reason. I bet it will not get on broadway though. But you have spotted a niche here - I am sure this is your real calling and after some dedicated training with some weights and a piece of string you could start your own Virginia version of the P puppeteers!

Chaos Theory – New angle
Tom Mac you will interested to find out that the Chaos theory has been extended in to yet even more elaborate areas of cause and effect. All down to your Tornado report. For those of you who do not know about the Chaos theory – it basically explains how the flutter of a butterfly’s wing in Beijing could cause a Tornado in Virginia. – if you would like to find out more have a look here Chaos . It now appears that this can also be extended Toms golf!. The Tornado is the excuse for him loosing to Mum and Jack at golf. I rang him in great excitement yesterday to tell him all about Siobhan being in hiding as a Tornado ripped down the street in Roundhill – the phone rang for a while but I know he was there with Jack and Mam as I had just rang him a few minutes earlier. Eventually he did answer and I asked if he know his only daughter had just survived a Tornado as I had just read blogger – after a slight pause while he caught his breath he retorted “You f£ckin eejit you made me miss my f£ckin pitch”. I thought golf was suppose to be a stress free relaxing day out! Maybe not. That butterfly has a lot to answer for!
By the way Tom the Tornado report was great – please instruct Siobhan to get pictures next time – that’s if your lucky enough to get one

Jack - when is the golf game - are you arranging one - I need to know so I can book a day off!
Good Bye meal for Phil and Carin and Erin and Culi
Also- I am arranging an evening out on Sat 19th July. For all of us who can make it. Anne and Chrissy talty will be here and need looking after this night as M&D are at a do. So we will take them to Akash in Clecky for a curry at 7ish or early enough so all the kids can come too - we can get our own room or area - with Brians and Phils kids all together it maybe better to do this ! The Akash is near enough for all to make it and I am sure it will entertain the cousins. After it can be back to either Brians or Phils
Rizwana and maybe her younger sister will join us. This will be good as they and AM will be able to look after the kiddies!
Plan B is I am off to the pictures.
What do you think?

Hi all
OK Mum - we can all try to post only nice things from Now on!! - but if you stop looking it you will not get to see suff like my pics below
These are the last few days of Tom and Barbara Mac in Holiday in Yorkshire. They had a superb and very tiring time and will be glad to get back to the US to have a well earned rest. We had lots of fun with them. I managed to Get mum and Barb to come to new Indian restaurant in Dewsbury called Ashiques - good food and service but no beer! Brian came as well and had to make do with a Lasi.
Tom - I hope you get some good results soon - stay positive. If you want to know more about Riki Gervase - the office manager - he did an interview on radio 4 last week - so you have a few days left to listen to the show on the net - where he talks about the show and the characters - very funny - see 5th section on this page

The way to achieve inner peace
I am passing this on to you because it has definitely worked for Philip.
By following the simple advice I read in an article, I passed it on to Phil and he says he has finally found inner peace.
It read: "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started."
Phil looked around to see all the things he started and hadn't finished.
I have just been told by Carin that today he has finished one bottle of vodka, a bottle of red wine, a bottle of Jack Daniel's, some Prozac, a small box of chocolates and a litre of gin.
I bet feels fine now!
Mum and Dad are showing Barbara and Tom Mac around the new caravan and they are having a great time. Today the were taken to Aysgarth falls for a walk in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Though Tom Mac is being very malicious about the geographical features Yorkshire has to offer - calling the River “only a stream” and his comment about the Famous Aysgarth water fall was that "he had seen bigger cascades going down the plug hole"
We will endevour to try and impress them at Dinner on Friday when Jack, AM, Riz and me will be joining them for a HH special

[part two] (blog will not take a big post in one section for some reason!)
After brunch it was kite flying, football and British bulldogs. Sand got everywhere and most of the beach ended up back in Rizwanas flat - just imaging my room at Woodhaven - and this was 4 times worse!!
The afternoon was spent relaxing with Cluedo and watching our Virginia holiday video - and then it was off down town for more amusements and Pizza. We walked back home by the beach in the dark where I told the boys the Jaws story replacing "Amity Island" with “Margate Beach"
A late night picnic was next on the agenda as it was off to the beach with the now suitably "concerned" boys for hot coffee and chocolate and to all huddle up in the dark - they did not like being so close to the sea as Joe was worried we could fall asleep and tide could come in and get us. It was a clear sky and we laid looking up at the
stars. with no one around whilst I told them ghost stories. These were met with a mixed response and a few "please please please take us home now"
Monday was swimming pool and then a castle in Deal just to find out all about it to get some revenge on Tom as they has been very wound up by his and Siobhans taunting comment's about the fun and food they were missing out on in the USA.
Back to Margate for a wind down video and and mass tidy up campaign on Rizwana’s room. We set off early evening after fond farewells to sea, sand and Rizwana. The lads managed to keep awake for a couple of hours singing along with Pink Floyd and listening to time travel war stories.
We had a great weekend and can not wait for them to come again before the planned closure of Dreamland this year.

Bloggers
[Part one]
Read this - then see the pictures link at end - and finally read it all again to make sense
I had a great weekend with the lads in Margate and will add pictures here when I get around to it. We went down on Friday and got back last night (Monday) at 2 am. Rizwana just would not let us all go!
Without a doubt, we had a fantastic time with minimum amount of hassle and arguing between the boys and me. They have now discovered Margate Dreamland park and all the amusements which to Conors great delight gave him more money back when he put his 2 pence in. The weather was warm and sunny enough to allow them to run into the sea - a stones throw from Rizwana’s place. There were rides, donuts and donkeys, all within reach and a must have for these deprived youngsters.
On Saturday morning we went straight to the beach for swimming and running around, and onto the Dreamland rides park and sea front amusements for the afternoon until all our money had gone and they were sick of the rides. The stomach churning rides were too much for me and Rizwana and the boys went on their own again
and again. The day ticket to the park and no queues meant they lads could walk up to any ride and get on - and stay on! - in the end after a particularly brutal
spinning ride which left you stuck to the sides by centrifugal force alone as the floor was lowered away, you get the picture - fast, furious and vomit inducing - only Conor seemed unaffected and wanted to go again!
After a few more hours relaxing on the2 penny shove or drop machines we went for a pizza and home for video and bed.
Sunday - was back to the beach to get an appetite for Breakfast on the beach at a sea front café. Luke had on his new roller blades which he rode on as a normal kid for a few hundred yards until he got fed up and then played "Jackass" which consisted of him crashing in to Joe and Conor and flying off the promenade at great speed to land on the sand. When he realised that this was not dangerous enough and had not damaged him self he added more twists, dives and height until I put a stop to it. He then sulked and skated off to try and rollerblade into the sea instead. Football on the beach brought out the usual competitiveness in Joe and Luke whist Conor played quietly in the bottom of a sandpit someone had dug out to the size of a large bath.

In Margate on the weekend Jo told me this joke and asked me to put it on blogger for him so if you have any questions – ask him not me!
A blind man enters a ladies bar by mistake. He finds his way to a barstool and orders a drink. After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, "Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?"
The bar immediately falls absolutely quiet. In a very deep, husky voice, the bartender leans over and next to him says, "Before you tell that joke, sir, I think it is just fair- giving that you are blind-that you should know five things:
1. I am a blonde girl.
2. The bouncer is a blonde girl.
3. The manager is a 6 foot tall, 220 lb. blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
4. The woman sitting on your right is called Carin Harrington, she is a Doctor and surgeon who is an expert with a scalpel - and she is also a blonde!
5. The lady to your left is called Victoria Harrington, she is also a blonde and who can kill with one look and turn you inside out with one shout.
Now think about it seriously, Mister. Do you still wanna tell that joke? The blind man thinks for a second, shakes his head, and declares,
"Nah, not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times."

Siobhan,
Thanx for your vote, you'll still have to cast the vote from your PC for me (I haven't worked out how to hack the blogger voting database yet).
Curry - no problem, but I'm sure you'd prefer an authentic curry from my Mum (me being a plastic Paki). Will I send it via Tom & Barbara or Fed Ex? Alternatively, I'll arrange another apna style banquet as you and Phil missed out last time.
Phil,
Thank you for your vote but unless voting by proxy is permitted, it's no use.
Why not try one of the anonymous sites Michael goes on about? They work for me in the office at hospital. Or do you think it's worth pursuing Carin for her vote in exchange for babysitting (the boys are coming to Margate this weekend, Erin would be most welcome to even out the odds – 2 girls to 4 boys).
Abid is well except he split with Georgina. He's working away on his Ph.D. but intends to head back to Beijing by July.
Michael - your future is put on the line by a curry everytime you eat at that waste of space of a place in Bradford ("The Kashmir")!!!
posted by Anonymous on 5/22/2003 04:22:00 PM
So it seems I am now putting my future on the line all for the taste of a quality curry!!
Very funny comments Jack - such wit and insight - but strange how the votes are tied and none yet for Virginia - A case of 1 root beer to far!
Phil stop working and try this - www.megaproxy.com I want to know if you can get to this site, If so then paste in tomharrington.blogspot.com and see if is comes up. But this still blocks the voting panel . But let me know or I will come over and try it myself!
Tom - off to see Matrix reloaded next week - what did you think? Marks out of 10 and no storyline please!

Have you over there been told the Real Jessica Lynch story?
Her Iraqi guards had long fled, she was being well cared for - and doctors had already tried to free her. Michael Harrington discovers the real story behind a modern American war myth Dont believe what you read
I know how much it mean to the US that she was rescued but how this happened is another example of the power of the government to control the media. And the frustrating attempt of the Iraqi doctor to get her out 2 days earlier only to be shot at by an American check point. Will this and the lack of any soldiers guarding her make it into the final cut of the film? I think Not.
I am glad your Dad like the tortoise like speeding ticket story - I will give him and Ma the full details when they are over here including and an in-depth explanation of the faults and potential dangers of your cars cruise control. My reporting of Carins anecdotes was well received by everyone accept Carin but she is getting over it and my next ambition is to get Daddy to see it and have a laugh at it! Carin - I know him well enough now to judge this one! You are off to see this chap next week with us - Mark Thomas He has a lot more enlightening stories for us - which I know you will like. Especially the one about the trouble he got into when he put a bounty on George Bushes JR's head!
More for those with a belly for laughs.

Panamania.
A poem for Tom and Siobhan!
|
|
I have a dream
That one day an American president
Will rise up and say to the world,
We hold certain lies to be self-evident,
That when we invade small countries
For the alleged purpose of saving democracy,
No one would take us seriously,
Apart, of course, from a British prime minister.
I have a dream
That a leader in the White House,
Who backs the world's biggest butchers
From China and Cambodia to the Americas,
To defend the buck he holds most dear,
Will talk of life and liberty under God
With hand on heart,
And will keep a straight face.
Well, we can all dream...

Carin had arrived back to blighty! Welcome home Carin. She landed 4 hours late last night at Heathrow and was put up in the Hilton Hotel by BA as she had missed her connecting flight to Manchester. I picked her up at midday today and delivered Carin, Erin and Culi back home to Bath Road.
The house was nice and clean - "Fantastic" where her actual words so paaa to all you worriers and trouble makers! She was missing Philip but when she saw her welcome pack of chocolates, flowers, Easter eggs, Champagne and Heinz baked beans she soon forgot about him.
She is spending 2 weeks in quarantine "just in case" but all seem well and she will make good use of this time - reading blogger she assures me!
Carin seems well after a very stressful last few days and a long journey home. Erin is becoming a little lady and Culi is no longer a baby but a little boy who gets everywhere. They both looked very sweet in their new Asian traditional clothes (present from Rizwana).
I will be looking after them so keep away from me for a few days.
I should have taken a photo to show you Shiv -

And finally to Tom Mac Finchy - re room use!
Very good Tom you are far to smart for your pants!
So lets see how smart you really are - Below are 4 questions. Answer them instantly. You can't take your time.
Answer them immediately. No pencil or paper! OK? Let's find out just how smart and clever you really are. Ready? ... GO!!!
FIRST QUESTION TOM: You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in?
ANSWER: If you answer that you are first, then you are absolutely wrong! If you overtake the second person and you take his place, you are second!
Come on Tom try not to screw up in the next question.
To answer the second question, don't take as much time as you took for
the first question. (Tom you know you took too much time.)
SECOND QUESTION TOM: If you overtake the last person, then you are...?
ANSWER: If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again. Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST person?!
THIRD QUESTION TOM: Very tricky math! Note: This must be done in your head
only. Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it.
Take 1000 and add 40 to it.
Now add another 1000.
Now add 30.
Add another 1000.
Now add 20.
Now add another 1000.
Now add 10.
What is the total?
ANSWER: Did you get 5000? The correct answer is actually 4100. Don't believe it? check with your calculator! Today is definitely not your day Tom.
Maybe you will get the last question right?
LAST QUESTION FINCHY: Mary's father has five daughters: Nana, Nene, Nini, Nono. What is the name of the fifth daughter?
ANSWER: Nunu? Nana? Nene? NONO! Of course not. The fifth daughter's name is Mary. Read the question again.
Tom you ARE the WEAKEST LINK goodbye!

Hi all
no photos yet - I have lost the power lead to my digital camera - Shiv is it in your house anywhere? It maybe at Rizwana's flat but no pictures until I get this back. If it is at yours please send it to me
Shiv you can add internet links to blogger by clicking the globe with sideways 8 under it just up on the left like this add the word click (or any word) and you have an easy to click link. Works - enter your name on the left hand part of the screen. Its a good idea to get you somet you want rather than guessing!
I have no pictures of your baby room - remember the house was too messy to do a tour with the camera!
And finally my room..... you yanks don't half go on ....So did you see the state or my old room at the Hotel after Siobhan left it? No? but I had to clean it up and put all Shivs stuff into dustbin liners. Siobhan when you come you can stay with me if I am still at Bath road and make yourself at home, living in comfort and at ease - no worrying about baby messes or tissues left about the place- what luxury.I have Joe and the dogs staying with me at the weekend - should be fun, beer and curries.

Dear Tom, Siobhan & Peanut
May I apologise profusely on behalf of Michael and myself (I seem to be making a habit of this - see previous Blog) for the bombshell bedroom we left behind. I did set my alarm for 3 am to allow me ample cleaning time however, when the alarm sounded; Michael refused to let me out of bed (no change there!) and reassured me that Siobhan wouldn’t mind, Tom enjoys tidying up AND we could blame it on the crappy cruise control.
Anyway, I’d just like to thank you all for a great holiday. I had a wonderful time despite having to sit through a whole series of The Office (thank God I escaped Dad’s Army). I look forward to re-living it when I watch the promo video. I’m sorry I forgot to wash your dress for you Siobhan, it just needs soaking in a bath tub of warm water. If you get chance, could you take a picture of you in the denim outfit? I regret not seeing you in it. Finally, please don’t dispose of the Organic Noni Juice I left in your fridge, I can’t get it in England yet and it’s very good for Michael – any chance it could be mailed? Also, If it’s not too late, could you give my Easter egg to my fellow piano student?

Hi Mum and family bloggers
We are here and too busy having a great time to spend it on blogger! It is Tuesday now at 7.30 am (or 12.30 pm for my body) So I am up early reading my emails before Rizwana and I hit the road to cruise down South for a couple of days. Shiv and Peanit are fine and her and Tom are great hosts - we have eaten and drunk and spent time lazing in the sunshine. It is nice and hot here - 70-80 but it is predicted rain will come on Thursday as Jack arrives!!
We went to the Great Falls on Sunday with T and S and then on to Carls farm for a great big pagan bonfire in the woods , and yesterday after a lazy start Rizwana and I did a cycle ride over the backward hills of Roundhill - no cars - just wild animlas to keep us company.
The boys would love it here - pictures and film to follow.
We are heading for Charlestown soon so I have to go
Lots of love
Michael and Rizwana

Siobhan,
I'm so sorry for saying you sound more like Tom (yank) and less like us, I didn't mean to offend you, I'm sure your Yorkshire accent is as broad as ever! (Atleast it will be after a visit from "more Yorkshire than Irish" Michael and his Speech Therapist girlfriend!) . Please, please let me come and visit (would chocolates and Heinz baked beans help you make your decision?). Big Love, Rizwana x
Phil, Carin, Erin & Culy
Greetings!
Just wanted to shout "HELLO" while on the blog. I'm really excited about catching up with you and the whole Mongolian thing. After intense negotiations with my bosses, I have been granted 4 weeks leave, so although I won't be able to join you sunning yourselves on a beach after the exhausting expedition, I'm quite happy to let Erin and Culy entertain me while you (plural) and Michael go on without me - well on second thoughts not Michael, wouldn't want him to play gooseberry on a romantic break! Stay well, big hugs Rizwana x

I am glad you liked them Siobhan- If you had put on blogger the latest news i.e. that you were now working from home then you would have got them a lot sooner! Keep watching the Office so we can watch the second series together! And do not let Tom watch Dads Army until he has received viewing instructions from Tom H. I am finishing work on Thursday and will see you at the Airport on Sat afternoon. I will bring my lap top and camera so we can post loads more pictures on blogger of our US invasion.

Philip is managing to cope admirably as you as you can see here when he confronted a cat burglar on his estate. He grabbed a weapon and luckily Carin had a camera near at hand to capture Phil's extraordinary feat of bravery. Thankfully they have now both recovered from their stressful ordeal. When Microsoft introduced the new XP Operating system, they took a closer
look at the mouse.
Test results showed that many women are having trouble using today's
mouse.
For the female target group a new mouse has been developed, with the
most
important criteria being feel, comfort and ergonomics. After the
first prototype was created, male focus groups were polled to ensure that
nobody was being discriminated against.
The male groups did not show any concerns and even voiced that after
viewing a woman using the new mouse it seemed very natural and practical.
I think this will suit Siobhan and Annmarie most

Bloggers Notice the new blogger without the add banner on the top! this is to make the page load faster and so cause Jack less frustration in waiting for the latest news to be displayed and not to mention saving a fortune for the client whose time he is charging his time to.
It cost me $50 to pay for this upgrade to blog with lots of additional features so you all owe me as this is a family project:
You can repay me by putting a blog entry on here or even better getting someone else to.
The big difference is that you will notice a new upload button on when you are editing your blogs - this is to allow you all to add pictures or any other documents to the blog. There is a link on the top of this page anytime you want to know how to do this. Or just click this link here

This is a true story that I have found out from Dads close friend -
It happened a few months ago when dad saw a tramp walking past the lodge as he was on his way out and he was accosted by this particularly dirty tramp
who asked him for a couple of pounds to buy something to eat.
Dad reached into his pocket and took out two pound coins. He started to give them to the tramp, then paused, "If I give you this money, will you
take it and buy cheap wine with it?"
"No, I stopped drinking two years ago!"
"Will you gamble with it?"
"I need all the money I can beg to stay alive! I gave up gambling eight years ago."
"Will you spend the money on greens fees at a golf course?"
"Are you crazy? Do you think any course would let me near? I haven't played golf for ten years!"
"Will you spend the money at an internet cafe?"
"No way man? I was addicted to the chat rooms but now I don't go near the damn things"
Dad then announced, "I've decided not to give you two pounds. Instead, I'm going to take you home for a dinner cooked by my wife Nora!"
The tramp was astounded, "Won't Nora be furious with you for doing that? I'm dirty, and I smell bad."
Dad replied, "I promise you it won't be a problem! She has the heart of an angel and is always willing to help those who are down on their luck,
suffering illness, bereaved, with matrimonial problems, or in trouble with the law. Besides, ... I want her to see what a man looks like when he's given up beer, gambling, internet and golf!"

Michaels Toe Update
Hello family - I can see from the voting results that none of you are interested in any more tear jerking toe tales. I have only one vote and that was Me! What did I expect - you are all just like mum and all squeamish beyond belief. Well I showed Luke the blogger toe story and pictures on Sunday and he thought they were all dead "cool". So I am just young and hip for my age unlike all you old fogies who are past it and want to sit by the fire with your feet up and your tea at in one hand and your paper in the other. Anyway I took the main bandage off today as it was soaked in blood, pus and some other slimish green substance which some how emanated from my foot and festered in my socks and shoes for a week now. Emanated - now this word reminds me of MnM;s new film 8 Mile which I watched with Rizwana last weekend - it was surprisingly good - he is a very fast whited, quick thinking, talented bloke. Brian would like this film. Back to the toe - the main reason I took the bandage off was the smell. I did not like it and neither did Riz who kept spraying my foot with any aerosol spray she could lay her hands on. But it all got too much at work when all those around me where holding their noses and complaining of the dead cabbage stink. Once the toe was cleaned up it looked beautiful if a little purple - I will give you all a personal look when I see you - this will be next weekend for the local family and on Sat April the 12th for Siobhan and Tom as Rizwana and moi are flying over to Virginia for a week and back to UK on Monday 21st April. Bye for now, Michael

Michael's Grand day out at Dewsbury Hospital
I finally had the operation. My chronically infected toe nail was removed today at 3.45 pm. I knew some of you would be eager to know what they did to me so in the interests of educational voyeurism and also to satisfy Annmarie and Carin's lust for gore, I took some pictures as the nail was removed. I managed to take these under great pain, duress and stress so I expect all of you to have a look at them - especially Siobhan, Annmarie and Victoria. Click here
Mum was kind enough to take me and I managed to get her a seat next to me in the operation room but she did a runner when the Doctor took out the big needle before anything had even happened! Mummy Harrington you are a wimp.
The six inch needle was the worst part of my ordeal.
"You may feel some discomfort" he said.
This was a MAJOR understatement!
It was like a sharp sting starting on the outside and continuing slowly through the toe all the way to the other side. I focused on deep breathing and clenching my fists as I resisted the urge to scream. After a few long seconds the needle was withdrawn and I began to relax and calm myself. Then he told me he had to do the other side of the toe. However, I knew what to expect and boldly said (after spitting out the piece of wood) "go for it!".
This time I made him pose for a picture, he was slightly amused by masochistic tendencies which he put down to my strict Catholic upbringing.
The rest was plain sailing as the toe went numb and all his pulling, digging, scraping and cutting did not affect me in the slightest - although the pain is now hitting me as the anaesthetic wears off. But fear not Rizwana is on M1 as I type!
Let me know what you think of the pictures and how brave you think I am !
Love M
